How vaginal laser treatment works
How the CO₂ laser works in the intimate area
The CO₂ laser acts on the mucosa with light and stimulates the tissue to renew itself. The treatment does not involve surgery.
What a session involves
A laser session takes approx. 10–15 minutes and is outpatient. For the external intimate area we apply a numbing cream beforehand. Afterwards you can usually resume your day.
How many sessions are usual
Several sessions are needed, a few weeks apart. Dr. Wagner sets the exact number after the examination.

Who the treatment is not suitable for
The laser is not used for stress incontinence and is not a treatment for prolapse. Other reasons against treatment are discussed with your physician before treatment and set individually.
What vaginal laser treatment costs
For dryness, laser treatment costs CHF 590 per session. The laser treatment is a self-pay service, except for treatment with a confirmed diagnosis of lichen sclerosus and a corresponding indication, where it is covered by health insurance. The preceding gynaecological assessment is billed through basic insurance where indicated.

Other treatment options
