Laser tattoo removal cost: a small tattoo up to approx. 5 × 5 cm costs from CHF 180 per session, a medium tattoo from 5 × 5 to 15 × 15 cm typically CHF 250–450 per session. For large tattoos over 15 × 15 cm you receive an individual quote. With a treatment plan of 5 or 10 sessions you get a 10% package benefit on the price per treatment, for example for a small tattoo CHF 810 instead of 900 (5 sessions) or CHF 1,620 instead of 1,800 (10 sessions). The first consultation with photo assessment is free.

Can a lower back tattoo be removed?
Yes. Lower back tattoos are among the most frequent removals in our practice. They are large, but usually inked purely in black and therefore respond well to treatment.
How many sessions does a lower back tattoo need?
Depending on age, colour depth and skin type, usually 6–10 sessions at intervals of eight to twelve weeks.
What does removal cost?
Typically CHF 250–450 per appointment for lower back tattoos; very large motifs after a personal assessment with a clear price per appointment. Size determines the price per appointment, not the number of sessions.
Can you tell me what my character means?
No. We are specialists in laser treatment, not in translation – and we don't claim anything we cannot verify.
Can small characters be removed completely?
Often yes. Small black motifs have the best prospects of a complete result of all tattoos.
Can coloured tattoos be removed?
Yes – Hollywood Spectra is also suitable for multicolour tattoos. Black pigments respond best. Colours such as green and blue are more demanding, but treatable. During the initial assessment we evaluate your specific pigments.
How long do I need to wait between sessions?
Usually 8–12 weeks between sessions. The body needs time to clear fragmented pigment. Shorter intervals do not help – this is biology, not a delay.
Will scars remain?
With correct technique and aftercare, the risk of scarring is low. We work with skin-conscious protocols and individually adjusted energy delivery. Existing scars within the tattoo may remain.
Can a tattoo be lightened for a cover-up?
Yes – this is a common and useful option. As few as 2–4 sessions can lighten a tattoo enough for a new tattoo to be placed over it. We discuss this during the initial assessment.
Is laser tattoo removal safe in Switzerland?
Yes – doubly secured with us. According to NISSG regulations, medical laser treatments must be under physician responsibility. Dr. Wagner is an FMH specialist physician and personally responsible for every treatment.
Can previously treated tattoos be removed?
Yes, we also assess previously treated tattoos. Whether and how treatment can continue is clarified in the free first consultation with photo assessment.
What does tattoo removal cost in Basel?

How many sessions are needed?
This depends on size, colours, pigment depth and skin type. Small black tattoos may be significantly lightened after 4–6 sessions. Large multicolour tattoos often require 8–12 sessions over many months. We provide an honest estimate during the initial assessment.
Can every tattoo be completely removed?
Not always – and we state this clearly. Black pigments respond best. Colours such as green, blue and yellow are more difficult. Some tattoos can be strongly lightened but not completely removed. We are honest about this before starting.
Does the treatment hurt?
The treatment is comparable to a rubber band snapping on the skin. The sensation varies individually. We work with cooling systems and adjust intensity to your tolerance level. On request, local anaesthesia by injection is also available – administered by a physician.
