Do your expression lines bother you?

Expression lines form where the facial muscles move repeatedly. Over the years these lines etch deeper and eventually remain visible even at rest. The best results come from treating early – before dynamic lines become permanent, static wrinkles.

Important to know

We can only reliably smooth dynamic wrinkles – those caused by muscle movement. Static wrinkles, already visibly etched into the skin at rest, can be softened but not fully removed. That's why it's better to start early, before dynamic wrinkles become permanently imprinted in the skin.

A muscle-relaxing substance.

The treatment uses a very small dose of a muscle-relaxing substance that specifically relaxes the relevant facial muscles. This smooths the overlying expression lines and visibly reduces fine lines. The result is not permanent and fades after a few months – allowing fine, gradual control.

"When botulinum toxin A stops working, it's rarely the dose that's the problem – it's the history of previous treatments."

Anyone treated frequently over many years – especially with older preparations containing large carrier proteins (high molecular weight) – may have developed antibodies against the botulinum toxin protein. A typical sign: ever larger doses are needed, yet only a minimal or very short effect occurs.

Once antibodies have formed, this cannot be reversed – switching preparations usually brings no further success either. That is exactly why I work from the outset with highly purified botulinum toxin A with the smallest possible carrier molecule, at the lowest effective dose and with sufficient intervals between sessions.

Together we discuss your wishes, analyse your facial expression and create an individual treatment plan.

Treatment
Using a very fine needle, the substance is precisely injected into the relevant muscles. Usually takes 10 to 20 minutes.

Right afterwards
You can resume your daily routine immediately. In the first few hours, deliberately move the treated muscles a lot – this helps the botulinum toxin A distribute evenly. Simply avoid sport on the day of treatment.

Follow-up check
If needed, we schedule a brief follow-up appointment after about two weeks for fine-tuning.

No alcohol, especially no red wine
No blood-thinning medication or vitamin E (unless medically prescribed)

Aftercare.

In the first few hours, deliberately move the treated muscles a lot (frown, raise eyebrows, blink) – this helps the botulinum toxin A distribute evenly in the muscle
No sport on the day of treatment
Do not lie flat for a few hours
Do not massage the treated area at first
No sauna for 24 hours

4 to 5 months.

Initial results usually appear within 48 to 72 hours. The full result develops over one to two weeks. Depending on the area and metabolism, the result usually lasts around four to five months – after which the body naturally breaks the substance down again.

Since facial musculature is typically significantly stronger in men, more material is needed to achieve an equivalent result. We therefore charge male patients a surcharge of +20% on the prices above.

Several zones are treated in the same appointment. We determine the treatment scope that suits you together during the consultation.
